Dr.Mohamed Rafique is the Medical Director of PRIME hospital from august 2014 and as Pulmonologist he heads the Department of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine .,he oversees the functioning of the clinical departments,and all the Doctors reporting to him ,

Dr Rafique was involved in the Bariatric Task force ,which worked in achieving Prime hospital as a Bariatric center of excellence in the Middle East region accredited by SRC ,surgical Review corporation USA in 2017, among the first In the private sector in this part of the Region.
He has being actively involved in the Quality processes of JCI accreditation with the Quality department relating to the Inspection and audits resulting in the successful accreditation of the hospital in 2016.
He chairs the credentials and Privileging committee which approves the clinical competencies and skills of Doctors. As the Chair of the Credentials and Privileging Committee, has also been actively involved in approving the competencies and skills of physicians (95 inhouse full time and Community based doctors 123) .Overseeing them on a periodic basis.maintainig high clinical standards of work ,reviewing there work on a peiodic basis .He is also the Chair of Infection control department who along with the Hospital infection control PCI (Prevention of Control of infection) team , monitors the various aspects of infection Risks,looking into Hospital Key performance indicators KPI in these areas and maintaining it according to the International benchmarks standards.
He was part of the JCI committee as the Chairperson of AOP chapter (assessment of patients) chapter at Al Ain hospital (SEHA Gold winner hospital under HAAD) in achieving the JCI accreditation .
He is the chair of the Hospital Medical Board ,holding MEETS with clinical Chairs of departments regularly who report to him ,to address clinical issues, peiodic meets with ER dept,Registrars of Medicine,surgery , paediatrics & Obs Gynec., conducts regular Morbidity & Mortality meetings to resolve any clinical complaints , with action response at the earliest based on the seriousness of the complaints with feedback given to patients ,and in case of DHA complaints , feedback given to DHA .
Organises CME programmes namely the weekly Thursday clinical meeting inhouse , MIND TREE monthly Large scale outside CMES for the UAE medical fraternity every MONTh Once . He has an excellent character with Good interpersonal relationship towards his staff subordinates and among his working colleagues , striving in unison for the progress and betterment of this reputed institution.
