Main scientific focus area: Paediatric allergology, especially development of allergic diseases, risk factors and prevention, food allergy and asthma.
I received “The 10th Gold Medal of the Foundation for Allergy Research in Europe (FARE)”, EAACI June 1998 for my research: Measures to prevent atopic diseases in early childhood. June 2019 I received the EAACI Daniel Bovet Award 2019, Treatment and Prevention.
Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSci) with The thesis “Prevention of allergic disease in childhood. Clinical and epidemiological aspects of primary and secondary allergy prevention” at The Medical Faculty of The University of Southern Denmark 2004.
