Research Interests
Dr. Lee’s current research projects involve:
• The effects of antimicrobial therapy and functional endoscopic sinus surgery on the paranasal sinus microbiome composition of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis
• The mechanisms of iron modulation in virally-induced biofilm production in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and cystic fibrosis
• Mapping patients with chronic rhinosinusitis by severity to air quality in Western PA to determine affects of small and large airborne particulates in chronic airway inflammation
• The efficacy of topical antimicrobials in patients with chronic bacterial rhinosinusitis
• Efficacy of clinical trials utilizing monoclonal antibody therapies to target inflammatory pathways in mast cells and eosinophils
